DeskPort Privacy Policy

We at DeskPort Technologies are concerned for your privacy and security. We treat your privacy as if it is our own. Your personal profile information is encrypted and stored locally on your computer. It is NEVER maintained by us or any other third-party.
The following describes our systems for transmission and any use of proprietary information.

1. Security of Your Data.
DeskPort Technologies, the developer of DeskPort, has taken steps to ensure that your confidential personal information and data are protected from unauthorized users.

All personal data is stored in a profile residing on YOUR computer. All proprietary data is encrypted using the same protection technology currently utilized by most banks for online transactions. At no time does DeskPort Technologies have access to any of your personally identifiable data nor do we know your usernames, passwords, or PINs (for the MileTracker product).

2. Automatic Update Features.
DeskPort automatically communicates with DeskPort Technologies servers via the Internet to check for application updates, such as new category additions, bug fixes, patches, and/or new versions. For some updates, such as new executables, we may request your permission as a specific action may be required on your part. Many simpler updates will be done automatically in the background.

3. Protection From Unauthorized Access.
Proprietary information, including but not limited to your travel frequency program information, is never stored on our servers or any other third-party server. All data remains on your computer. We encourage you to exercise care in protecting your own computer from unauthorized access.

4. Collection and Use of Personal Information.
DeskPort will request a valid e-mail address prior to application download. We do this in order to communicate specific update requests and other information, and to comply with applicable federal law regarding opt-in for communications purposes.

We do not collect any other personally identifiable information nor do we allow others to do so. ("Personally identifiable information" is information such as your name, phone number, credit card information, address or email address-anything that could identify you personally.) In the course of using DeskPort there may be times when personally identifiable information is transmitted to one or more of our suppliers (such as in a travel purchase). However, DeskPort will only transmit that data at your request and will not maintain that data on any DeskPort server.

Additionally, we never collect information on where DeskPort users go on the Web, what you do on the Web, or any other information that is not directly linked to usage of the DeskPort.

5. Sharing Personal Information With Third Parties.
  • Transactions you choose to make, such as travel bookings, may require a credit card to hold or purchase the service. DeskPort provides to a partner only the information necessary to process your transaction based on their requirements. In the event you purchase a service/product we will use the information you supply us only to complete the transaction.
  • Requesting a frequency program statement via MileTracker requires that we provide the program vendor with the information necessary to obtain your online statement. The source for this information is the MileTracker profile which is stored on your computer (see Section 1 above).
  • DeskPort may provide third parties with summaries of site traffic information that do not affect your anonymity, such as the number of visitors to a particular area of the site.
6. Applicability to Other Web sites.
The DeskPort application and DeskPort's Web site contain links to other sites. Please be aware that we are not responsible for the privacy practices of other sites. You should be conscious of the privacy practices of any Web site that you visit or that collects personally identifiable information.

7. Changes to Privacy Policy.
Any changes to our Privacy Policy that may affect the way your proprietary information is used will be clearly posted on the DeskPort Web site. We will also notify you, in advance, by e-mail or via the application updater. You will always have a clearly defined and ongoing ability to opt-out of any such opportunity.
